Ana Gonzales bio
Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson is a Mexican musician who was born into a family of musicians. The music she grew up with was classic Boleros from the past and traditional romantic and Ranchero songs. Ana has a passion for the opera and tango genres as well as any form of dramatic performance. Her mother teaches her how to sing, but she started more intense vocal training through Flavio Belcerra, who was 16 at the time when the singer was famous as a Mexican opera tenor. Her musical education continued at the School of Music of the University of Guadalajara, and later at the School of Sacred Music in Toluca, Mexico. In her early career, she included performances with a variety of orchestras, chamber ensembles, and opera choirs and chamber groups in Guadalajara. Following her move to the United States, she performed in the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus. Then in 2002 she moved to Southern California. She sings with Ensemble XXI Redlands, and performs Latin American traditional music solo for many private functions. She has been involved with a number of local organizations in both teaching as well as a performer due to her enthusiasm for music and arts. Ana is also previously a member of Community Chorus of Redlands as and The Inland Master Chorale and Performance Loft. Ana hopes, by sharing her knowledge of Latin American traditional songs, to bring about a desire, specifically in the younger generations in keeping the music in the present.
