Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri is a famous Indian actor who earned popularity for her part in Hum Aapke hain Koun and Beta Saajan. The actress began her career in the 80s before coming to fame with her appearance in the film Tezaab where she appeared with the veteran actor Anil Kapoor. In the following film, she was a part of Aamir in Dil. A middle-class family was raised in Mumbai she started learning dance from an early age. As a young woman when she began to act, she was not successful as a lot of her film projects were not successful. They finally saw success and she went on to become one of the top actors within the Indian film industry. Following her wedding her husband died, she took time away from performing until she returned. She was also an integral role in the movie Gulaab Gang which was about the challenges faced by women throughout India. Dixit was nominated for fifteen Filmfare Awards, out of which she received eight. She was also honored with the Padma Shri the fourth highest civilian honor in India. She is known for her work in the field of social service as well.
